First the song starts with a melody played with a flute and at the middle of the loop (as of the fifth bar), I added the bass line. I chose to add a light percussion and a snare to bring a soft movement to the beginning of the verse.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the second loop (the last 8 bars) of the verse, I launched a drum bass to emphasize the song and then I finish the last 4 bars with a hi-hat to accelerate the movement before the pre-chorus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"pre-chorus-1-loop-or-8-bars\">Pre-Chorus (1 loop or 8 bars):<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lascratcheuse.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/loop-4-chance-1024x703.jpg\" alt=\"Extract of the Pre-Chorus made on La Scratcheuse's music maker for a beat making tutorial\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I always add a pre-chorus part in my beat even though it\u2019s not mandatory. The role thereof is to announce the next part, namely the chorus and hence to put it forward. I personally find that this part of the beat is a very cool transitioning moment. Sometimes I make a 4 bars\u2019 pre-chorus but for this mix I\u2019ve decided to make an 8 bars\u2019 pre-chorus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the instruments I\u2019ve been using in the pre-chorus, they are different from the intro and the verse, so as to create a contrast between the chorus and the verse part. Basically, I used multiple melodies to create a polyphony and another bass line to bring even more changes. These melodies are aerial and bring a cloud layer before the hook. As a result the chorus is made of all the instruments playing in the previous part and I added all the drums of the pack. Eventually, there are 12 instruments in the chorus. It is clearly the loudest part of the song.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I usually make a chorus of 8 bars so that it is not redundant. You can make a 16 bars chorus but make sure it is well balanced with the other parts of your beat. In this example, the chorus is between a pre-chorus of 8 bars and a bridge of 8 bars as well. Moreover, I used the same percussion and melodies as the intro.
